Controlled Ovarian Stimulation and Timed Sexual Intercourse

This is relatively simple procedure that may be offered when the women has healthy fallopian tubes and ovulates satisfactorily, and the man has normal sperms. The cycle may be natural (drug-free) if the woman ovulates normally or the ovaries may be gently stimulated to ovulate with drugs like Clomiphene Citrate tablets.

Monitoring begins from day 2 of the menstrual cycle to exclude any risk of ovarian cyst followed by

monitoring of growing follicles on day 10 and day 12 to detect ovulation accurately so that the couple may have sexual intercourse at the most opportune time (just before and after the egg is released) to optimise their chances of achieving pregnancy.
